If you've ever worn a garment made from bamboo, you know about that unbelievable softness and the light, cool feeling that caresses the skin. It feels like an extra layer of skin, and we 're talking about skin as smooth as a baby's bottom. 🥰

We could write a whole article about how soft and smooth our bamboo garments are, but you might be more curious about what is so great about bamboo that we have brought in a whole family?

Firstly, we'd like to clarify that when we talk about bamboo and textiles, we're actually referring to bamboo fibres. It's the bamboo fibres that give the fabric its amazing and unique properties.

Six benefits of Bamboo

1. Bamboo keeps you fresh
We all know how your clothes feel after a hard workout! If you choose bamboo, you will feel fresh and dry for much longer because the bamboo fibres make the fabric wonderfully breathable and moisture wicking.

2. Bamboo is incredibly soft
You won't want to take off a garment made of bamboo because the bamboo fibres make the fabric incredibly soft and comfortable to wear. You'll hardly notice you've got it on!

3. Bamboo is temperature-regulating
Bamboo has insulating properties. On hot days, the fabric will feel fresh and cool while providing additional protection during the cold days.

4. Bamboo is hypoallergenic
Bamboo is an especially good choice if you suffer from sensitive skin or allergies. Bamboo is hypoallergenic, which means that it doesn't cause allergic reactions.

5. Bamboo protects you from UV rays
Bamboo provides natural protection against UV rays and can filter out 97.5% of harmful UV rays. This makes the fabric the perfect choice on hot days when you're out in the sun for a long time.

6. Bamboo is anti-wrinkle
Thanks to the special bamboo fibres, the fabric is almost impossible to wrinkle. The garment will keep its shape extremely well wash after wash.

 Sustainable resource

Bamboo is one of the world's most sustainable resources. It's sustainable because it is extremely fast-growing and requires a very small amount of water. In fact, it survives on rainwater alone. Bamboo is a self-sustaining, pest-resistant crop with no need for chemicals, fertilisers or insecticides.

At harvest time, only the shoots are needed. This leaves the roots in place and allows new bamboo shoots to grow again. Bamboo can be harvested about 4-6 times a year and grows in the wild or in plantations. Of course, our bamboo is grown on plantations to ensure that endangered species are not affected.

About 10 times more bamboo is produced per square metre than cotton. Bamboo is better for the environment than cotton, not just because of the plant itself, but also because its cultivation and production ensure that bamboo is a more sustainable option. Bamboo requires only the sun and rainwater to grow. It also does not need any pesticides, insecticides or fertilisers, which makes it very good for the planet. We only need the bamboo shoots for the fabric, which means the roots remain and more shoots can grow from the same plant.

Did you know that...

1. Most bamboo varieties grow between 5 to 20 cm every day? The world record is 91 centimetres per day. That's what we call a fast-growing plant!

2. There are different types of bamboo. Some are more than 30 metres high and 20 cm in diameter.

3. Bamboo can grow both in the forest and on plantations. Our bamboo is harvested only from the plantations of certified suppliers.
